Time for a December giveaway! Leave your name in a comment to this post, and I’ll pull five names at random to get a free signed copy of The Untold Story – or, if people prefer, another book from the series (if I have a copy).

Rules:

a) All entries must be in by midnight UK time on Friday 3rd December 2021.

b) In your comment, state whether you’d like The Untold Story (I only have UK version copies, sorry) or a different book from the series – and if you’re after one that’s been published in a different language, please say which. I have some author copies…

c) After the deadline, I’ll draw the names at random, then I’ll contact people to get their physical addresses (no, I don’t have any e-copies to send out) and find out what name they’d like the book signed for.

d) Take care, stay safe, observe all COVID precautions, and have a good December.

Oh my goodness I am glad I stumbled across this page.

Goodreads sent me my “New December Books by Authors You’ve Read” and you were not on it! It literally nearly ruined my Christmas thinking that the Untold Story was not going to be released this year. Google took me here and now I’m calm again, knowing that the book I shun everyone for on Christmas day is going to be out this year (it’s agony waiting to Christmas day, but your books are genuinely that much of a significant tradition that I save it for then).

Long may your books be my most looked-forward-to Christmas present. I’d even trade them for the Christmas trifle.

Waffle asides, would love a copy of the Untold Story

  46. Arthur N says:

I’d absolutely love a copy of the Untold Story!! I picked up a copy of the first book back when it was the only one out, and I’ve been hanging on to the release dates ever since. The growing cast of supporting characters with their immediately distinctive voices, the development of clashing political structures and how they’re utilised in the narrative alongside the fantastical powers – that anyone could be equally as much of a threat or a problem-solver really keeps the tension high.
I have to take the opportunity to gush about a few characters in particular though – Silver, alas, his fae trope is too strong to be contained by the pages and the fourth wall. Li Ming appeared right when I was questioning my gender and his introduction was the first time I’d come across a trans man in a book before (it helped), and him saving Irene meant a lot. Irene herself of course is a fantastic protagonist with all her wit, diligence, frustration and personal turmoil.
I could go on forever, I know I’ve talked all my friends ears off about the structures of dragon and fae society and the secrecy of the library – I can’t wait for this next installment!!

  47. Scott McElney says:

Hi – I would love a copy of the Untold Story. Irene is a great character, who reminds me a bit of my own mother! Strong and vulnerable. Anyway, either way, best of luck with the new addition to a wonderful series. Cheers Scott
